University Of Alabama Hospital Program

The UAB Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery is one of the premier destination for high-value surgical care that is comprehensive, compassionate and patient-centered for patients and families in the southeast. Consistently voted as one of the top hospitals in the nation, our team is dedicated to excellence in training. Our Fellowship program maybe fairly new but our expertise in teaching is far from being new. Our dynamic group consists of diverse training backgrounds with a high volume of cases from bread and butter to complex referrals. We have one of the highest volume robotic colorectal experiences in the country, advanced straight laparoscopy and hand-assist laparoscopy. We performed over 500 anorectal cases, 900 abdominal cases and 500 endoscopies in the last year. We embrace the responsibility of training the next generation of surgeons and we can't wait to welcome you to our team!
